Ghanaian President John Mahama has arrived in Niamey, where he was warmly received at Diori Hamani International Airport by Niger’s leader, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tchiani, along with the Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the need for cooperation in addressing regional security threats and expanding economic opportunities.

Mahama also called on ECOWAS to reconcile with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) to support regional stability.
He is expected to visit Burkina Faso next, where discussions will likely focus on security issues, as the country continues to combat armed Islamist groups.
