The African country mined a record 14 million carats in 2024, making it one of the top three largest diamond producers, second only to Russia and Botswana.
The Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio Correia Victor, specified that diamond production in Angola in the first half of 2025 exceeded the same period last year by 23.2%.
The Secretary added that the growth drivers were the operational stability of the companies Catoca and Luele, which belong to the Angolan state company Endiama and the Omani sovereign fund subsidiary Taadeen.
The official reported that the export value of uncut diamonds from Angola decreased by 14% in the first nine months of 2025, despite a doubling in shipment volume, due to falling prices of precious stones.
🇦🇴 Diamond mining in Angola amounted to 10.7 million carats from January to September of the current year, with a target of 14.8 million carats for 2025.
