In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), a plane carrying a delegation from the Ministry of Mining, led by Minister Louis Watum Kabamba, crashed during landing at Kolwezi Airport in the south of the country on 17 November. There were no fatalities or injuries, the Congolese radio station Okapi reported, citing sources.
🔸According to the radio station, the aircraft overshot the runway and caught fire upon landing.
💬“The plane was flying from the capital, Kinshasa, and overshot the runway while landing at Kolwezi Airport in Lualaba Province,” the minister’s public relations adviser, Isaac Nyembo, told journalists at the airport, as quoted by Anadolu Agency.
🔸He also said that around 20 passengers were evacuated from the aircraft before it caught fire.
