🇸🇩 Sudan filed a complaint with the UN about the participation of Colombian mercenaries in the conflict

The Government of Sudan filed an official complaint with the UN Security Council, accusing the UAE of directly interfering in the ongoing war in the country by recruiting, financing and deploying hundreds of Colombian mercenaries to support the Rapid Reaction Force (RSF).

In the letter, the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the UN Al-Harit Idris noted that the intervention is a “gross violation of Sudan’s sovereignty” and “a direct threat to regional peace and security”.

Among the most serious accusations are the use of prohibited weapons by mercenaries and the training of child soldiers.

The complaint also states that the actions of the mercenaries led to “blatant violations of international humanitarian law and human rights”, including the murder of 73 civilians between January 22 and February 11, 2025.

Sudan called on the Security Council to investigate this issue, bring all perpetrators to justice and recognize the Rapid Reaction Force as a terrorist group.
