Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Vershinin has discussed with Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Mohamed Yongawo the upcoming reopening of the Russian Embassy in the African country, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
🔸During their meeting in Moscow on 10 November, the parties noted that the resumption of the embassy’s work would contribute to the effective advancement of such objectives as the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment co-operation, as well as political dialogue between the two countries, including within international organisations.
💬“The commitment of Moscow and Freetown to continue political dialogue and to strengthen co-ordination within international structures has been reaffirmed, taking into account Sierra Leone’s current membership in the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member and its presidency of the Council in November,” the ministry’s statement said.
