🇺🇸 Howard University Student Izzy Wondwossen Missing for Four Days as Family Appeals for Help

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A search is underway for Esube “Izzy” Wondwossen, a 22-year-old Howard University student who has been missing since Tuesday, September 15.

Wondwossen, who is from Prince George’s County, Maryland, was last seen at approximately 7:57 a.m. on September 15 leaving the Pentagon Metro Station in Arlington, Virginia, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department and the Black and Missing Foundation. (Missing Persons)

As of September 19, her family and community supporters continue to appeal to the public for information that could help locate her.

Who Is Izzy Wondwossen?

Wondwossen is a 22-year-old Black woman, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and 110 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes. Police and the Black and Missing Foundation say she has a mole above her left eyebrow. (BAMFI)

  • A black zip-up hoodie
  • Black leggings
  • A headband
  • Crocs
  • A tan Michael Kors bag

Family and Community Search

Wondwossen’s family has been asking for the public’s assistance as the search continues.

According to reporting from FOX 5 DC, Wondwossen’s sister said she is a senior at Howard University and was looking forward to graduating. Family members have described the disappearance as unusual and are asking people in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia area to remain alert. (FOX 5 DC)

Last Known Location

The last confirmed reported sighting places Wondwossen at the Pentagon Metro Station in Arlington, Virginia, shortly before 8 a.m. on September 15.

Authorities have also received information that she was later seen getting off a Metro bus in Alexandria that morning, according to her family as reported by FOX 5 DC. (FOX 5 DC)

The Prince George’s County Police Department says its Missing Persons Unit is handling the case.
