A CME will graze Earth on Nov. 1st, sparking G1 to G2-class geomagnetic storms. The CME was hurled into space by an erupting prominence on Oct. 29th. The prominence eruption produced a fairly bright coronal mass ejection (CME).
There is currently a gap in available SOHO coronagraph imagery, however latest images show a noteworthy plasma cloud leaving the Sun. A NASA model shows the edge of the CME is touching Earth.
