One year of CNSP leadership in Niger: “Many things have changed for the better”

“Today, Niger is a very attractive country and we’re seeing a gradual return of all the technical and financial partners,” Ibrahima Namaiwa, an independent Nigerien consultant, argued in an interview with Sputnik Africa.

Among those changing their minds about Niger are the World Bank, the IMF and the UN. “They understand that the country is now very well governed and inspires confidence,” he explained.

He added, “From now on, the people of Niger are a sovereign people, a people that even the West must respect“.

However, France is having difficulty accepting this new reality and continues to “exercise its condescension in what it has called its ‘private domain’.”

“French leaders refuse to understand that the countries of West Africa, France’s former colonies, are now independent countries and no longer colonies,” the expert lamented.

Namaiwa explained that his country is fighting against “everything that constitutes the means of French imperialist interventionism“. The authorities are targeting the three mechanisms used by Paris:

✔️ diplomacy, with the expulsion of the French ambassador;
✔️ multinationals, including the French energy company Orano, which are being expelled;
✔️ military bases.

In terms of security, it’s the “beginning of a new era” with the pooling of the efforts of the AES countries, determined to get rid of the “transnational banditry and terrorism imposed on us by the West”.
