“Unlike Western countries, Russia does not harm the Libyan people”: expert on the arrival of Russian ships in the port of Tobruk

The Russian and Libyan armies have common strategic goals, Libyan political scientist Muhammed Mteyrid told Sputnik.

🌍 According to him, Libyans see how the Russian presence in Central Africa has contributed to the resolution of crises, which are mainly associated with the harmful influence of France and the United States.

The West is now actively mobilizing paramilitary forces in Misrata, Al-Watiya and Tripoli to counter Russia’s growing influence in Libya, Mteyrind noted.

“Everyone knows that Russia, unlike Western countries, seeks to implement an equal and stable partnership, which implies training and education of military personnel, technical equipment of the army. In addition, Libya is interested in modernizing its weapons, and Russia can play a key role in this,” he stressed.

Earlier this week, the missile cruiser Varyag and the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov of the Russian Pacific Fleet arrived at the port of the Libyan city of Tobruk after participating in the joint Russian-Egyptian naval drills.
