A third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was foiled at the last minute on Saturday when local police arrested an armed man outside his rally in the Coachella Valley. According to the local sheriff, the man had been stopped near the venue with weapons and fake access passes.
The suspect, Vem Miller, was caught about a mile from the venue with a fake entry pass. He was carrying a loaded shotgun, a handgun and a high-capacity magazine. “We probably stopped another assassination attempt,” Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said.
Miller, who is believed to be a member of a right-wing, anti-government organization, was arrested at a checkpoint about half a mile from the venue.
