Burkina Faso’s Superior Council for Communication (CSC) has allocated a frequency for the operation of Daandé Liptako radio station of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), which includes Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, the CSC press service reported.
🔸The relevant agreement was signed by CSC President Wendingoudi Louis Modeste Ouedraogo and Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore in the presence of Minister of Communication Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouedraogo. The contract was concluded for a three-year period with the possibility of extension, and the radio station will operate on the 94.0 FM frequency.
💬“The establishment of this radio station is proof that the AES has recognised the need for strong <…> communication tools at a time when ill-wishers <…> relentlessly spread disinformation and seek to manipulate our population in order to distract it from what matters most: the conquest of <…> sovereignty, the security of our territories and <…> development for the benefit of the peoples of the Sahel,” the CSC president was quoted as saying
.
🔸According to him, “the initiative to establish the radio station will provide the Alliance’s states with a platform to promote their aspiration for genuine sovereignty and independence”.
