A visa-free travel agreement between Russia and Zimbabwe, aiming at boosting passenger traffic between the two countries, is being considered, with a potential signing on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow on November 5-7, Russian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Nikolay Krasilnikov told Russian media.
Currently, a single entry visa to Zimbabwe can now be obtained at the border crossing point, paying a fee of $30. While passenger traffic between Russia and Zimbabwe remains low due to limited flight options and high ticket prices, Zimbabwe expressed interest in attracting Russian tourists with developed tourism infrastructure, particularly in Victoria Falls.
Earlier, Russia showed interest in the possibility of a mutual abolition of visas with a number of African countries.
