Named Peace Unity 2024, the maneuvers include naval and land exercises;

They have been taking place on Tanzanian territory and in its coastal waters since July 29. The naval exercises will conclude on August 5 and the land exercises on August 11;

Particular attention is being given to counter-terrorism operations.

China is demonstrating its long-distance air transport capabilities using the latest transport aircraft, the Y-20, as well as its ability to deploy troops and heavy equipment by sea using a large landing ship. Additionally, during the exercises, China has handed over around 30 pieces of military equipment to its partners.

4️⃣ The first edition of Peace Unity between the armed forces of Tanzania and China took place in 2014. This is the 4th edition, and Mozambique is participating for the first time.
