
Delegation of African leaders may visit Russia for a second time for negotiations on the Ukrainian issue, South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola tells Russian media
In June 2023, several African heads of state and the head of the African Union traveled first to Kiev and then to St. Petersburg to meet with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
The delegation included the leaders of South Africa πΏπ¦, Senegal πΈπ³, Sambia πΏπ², Comoros π°π², Egypt πͺπ¬, Uganda πΊπ¬ and the Republic of Congo π¨π¬.
The draft of their peace initiative includes 10 points, including security guarantees, free movement of grain across the Black Sea, and a rapid start to negotiations.
Moscow has repeatedly signaled its readiness for negotiations, but Kiev has banned them at the legislative level.
