
Tunisian President Kais Saied Poised for Re-Election Amid Low Voter Turnout
Supporters of Tunisian President Kais Saied took to the streets of the capital on Sunday night, celebrating after an exit poll suggested a decisive victory in the country’s presidential election. According to a poll broadcast on state television, Saied garnered 89.2% of the vote, solidifying his position ahead of two other candidates.
The exit poll, conducted by the Sigma polling agency, indicated Saied’s significant lead over his rivals, Chaab Party leader Zouhair Maghzaoui and Ayachi Zammel, who was jailed last month. While official results are expected on Monday evening, Saied’s supporters have already begun to celebrate, anticipating a clear victory.
