Kampala, Uganda– Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the influential son of President Yoweri Museveni, has once again set social media ablaze with his bold—and bizarre—declarations of love for global superstar Beyoncé. In a series of now-viral posts on X (formerly Twitter), Kainerugaba not only professed his admiration for the singer but also challenged her husband, rap mogul Jay-Z, to a duel. 

Jay-Z Must Apologize for Marrying My Woman

 
In his most provocative post, Kainerugaba wrote: 
> Jay-Z can do whatever he wants to me, but I’m taking Beyoncé!

He went further, demanding that the American rapper.

“report to Uganda and apologize for marrying my woman.”

The post quickly gained traction, sparking a mix of amusement, confusion, and criticism across African and international social media circles. 

This isn’t the first time the Ugandan general has publicly fixated on Beyoncé. In 2024, he mocked Jay-Z’s wealth, claiming the rapper was “impoverished” because he didn’t own Ankole cattle—a prized Ugandan symbol of status and wealth. 

Controversial Remarks on Kenyan Women

Beyond his Beyoncé obsession, Kainerugaba has also stirred regional controversy with his comments about Kenyan women. In a previous post, he suggested that they “dream of him” while disparaging Kenyan men’s appearance. His remarks have drawn backlash, with many Kenyans and East Africans questioning his motives—whether this is mere social media trolling or a calculated move to bolster his political image. 

Political Ambitions or Social Media Antics?

As the commander of Uganda’s land forces and a potential successor to his father, Kainerugaba’s online behavior has raised eyebrows. Some analysts argue that his provocative posts are a strategy to cultivate a populist, anti-establishment persona ahead of a possible presidential bid. Others dismiss it as attention-seeking behavior unbecoming of a high-ranking military official. 

So far, neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has responded to Kainerugaba’s declarations. However, the online frenzy continues, with debates raging over whether this is just another eccentric social media moment or a glimpse into the general’s unconventional political playbook.
