




It marks a significant step forward in its renewable energy efforts. The cost of construction of the project is $17 million, and it is owned by the local LMI Holding Company Limited. The solar power will be distributed to clients within the Tema Free Zone Enclave industrial area, media reported.
“With a capacity of 16.82MW, this project contributes to our vision of building a greener, more sustainable future for our people,” Minister of State for Energy, Herbert Krapah, who commissioned the project, wrote on X.
Spanning 95,745 square meters — equivalent to 20 football fields — the plant is reportedly expected to produce 24.7 GWh of clean energy annually. Funded by the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation, the project is set to become a key player in advancing sustainable renewable energy within Ghana’s industrial sector.
