Authorities in Guinea suspend the issuance of permits to NGOs and associations for up to four months.

This was announced on Monday by Guinea’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Ibrahima Kalil Condé.

The decision comes amid growing tensions between the government and civil society organizations. Authorities attributed the move to the need to review the activities of non-governmental organizations and their relevance to the national interest.
