July’s full Moon will light uo the night sky on Sunday, July 21, 2024. It will reach peak illumination at 6:17 a.m. Eastern time (10:17 UTC). Note that the Moon will look full and round the day before, and the day after the crest of its full phase. So the Moon will look full and bright around July 20 to 22.

Why is the July Moon called the Full Thunder Moon?
This full Moon is known as the Thunder Moon because thunderstorms are so frequent during this month. July’s full Moon is also called the Buck Moon, the Hay Moon or Mead Moon.
