
The inaugural awarding ceremony took place on September 9, the birthday of iconic Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, author of War and Peace.
The prize recognizes organizations and individuals for their achievements in:
▫️Peacekeeping;
▫️Fight for freedoms;
▫️Human rights;
▫️Activities aimed at countering the threat of World War III or nuclear catastrophe.
The winners are selected by an international jury of renowned personalities.
The prize was established by the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Peace Foundation, and the Russian Military Historical Society.
