Global Firepower, an analytical site, ranks 145 countries based on their reserve military manpower. In Africa, these top five nations boast the largest reserve forces in 2024:

Egypt: 480,000 personnel (15th globally)
Morocco: 150,000 personnel (32nd globally)
Algeria: 135,000 personnel (34th globally)
Eritrea: 130,000 personnel (37th globally)
Sudan: 85,000 personnel (47th globally)
