Russia’s Kazan will host a forum of BRICS+ cities

On June 21, the Forum of Cities of the BRICS+ Countries will open in the Russian city of Kazan.

The event will be attended by 200 heads of municipalities from 21 countries, including China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Chile, Morocco, Indonesia, Mexico.

The forum is organized by the Kazan City Hall with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and the humanitarian agency Rossotrudnichestvo.

Participants are expected to discuss the creation of a new international organization – the Association of Cities and Municipalities of the BRICS+ Countries, hold its Founding Assembly, elect a leader, determine the location of the headquarters, outline a work plan and discuss joint projects, according to the event’s program.
