Persistent problems with undersea cables are causing internet disruptions across East Africa, prompting frustration among users in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda.
Industry expert Ben Roberts explained that faults in the cables linking the region to the global network via South Africa are to blame. Despite efforts from service providers, including Airtel Kenya and Vodacom Tanzania, to address the issue, some East Africans continue to experience slow internet speeds. The situation has also impacted neighboring countries like Malawi, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
This isn’t the first time such disruptions have occurred, with similar incidents affecting West and Southern Africa in March.
